Stallion Awards (New for 2017)
In order to be eligible for Stallion Awards, stallion owners must verify their stallion's status annually. Verification must be done each year before September 30th. We will maintain a list of verified stallions each year.
Also, after the awards have been paid out, if there is an issue with your award, you have until February 1st of the next year to ask for a correction.
You may update your stallion by completing the online form. You may return it by email (as a file attachment), by fax to 231-332-6047 or regular mail to our office. If you have any questions, please contact our office.
The State of Michigan is now using the Jockey Club as registration verification now. To be considered eligible for Breeders Awards, Owners Awards and State Bred supplemented races, your horse must have a Jockey Club Registration showing "foaled in Michigan".
To receive payment of Breeders Awards or Stallion Awards, you must have a W9 on file with Parks Productions:
MDARD Breeders/Owners Program
2250 Pontiac Rd.
Auburn Hills, MI 48326
You may also fax in your information: 248-370-9207.
To Register a Michigan Bred for Racing:
Beginning 10-1-11, The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will accept registration with the Jockey Club as acceptable for meeting the breeders and owners awards registration requirements as long as the horse was foaled in Michigan and so stated on the Jockey Club Certificate.
Sire Stakes Foal Nominations
Beginning with foals of 2011, Sire Stakes foal nominations are no longer required. Race eligibility will be determined by the horse being sired by a registered Michigan sire. A list from the Jockey Club showing registered stallions for each foaling year will be used to determine eligibility.
